Buying Clothes in Turkey

Dear Gentlemen, I'm going on vacation to Istanbul and Bursa, Turkey next week. Any tips on where to buy high-end clothes? I'm looking for outerwear (a rain coat, a pea coat), uber slim-cut dress shirts, blazers and casual pants. My Turkish friend will be with me, so getting to the venue(s) and knowing the language won't be a problem. Edit: Thanks for your replies so far. To clarify, I'll give an example. Burberry is manufactured in Turkey, so (where) can I get the factory-produced stuff without paying the Burberry prices? Here's hopin' that's not too tall an order. Many thanks in advance, coonky

Don't unless it is branded - then that means you need to judge the price demanded.

The best thing you can buy in Turkey is leather coats and jackets.

Thanks, I'll keep this in mind though the only leather goods I'm interested in now is belts.

Not much I'm afraid. All the Western goods imported are more expensive than in Europe (e.g Zara, Massimo Dutti, Burberry, RL, etc). I used to travel a lot for business in Istanbul a few years ago. There are a handful of very expensive shopping malls and upscale Italian-style Turkish fashion brands (Vakko, Sarar, Network), Vakko is nice (Caruso made suits?), expensive, but do not know if it's worth it. Here's a link to what you can expect from turkish brands You can visit the leather section of the Bazaar, lot's of knockoff accessories and jackets, but I would not recommend buying them.

Any particular brands that you'd recommend?
