Guys @ The Armoury - I'll be the guy who's in there as much as you are over the Christmas period.

I have a cream half-lined wool hopsack jacket (an old Dunhill), and the fabric looks very similar. Quite good for hot weather.

I bought a couple of Sou Sou squares in cotton from SP. They fit in well with an HK/summer aesthetic; there's a sort of rawness to them which I like.

A quick question on the Drake's silk prints at The Armoury - are they the same width as the ties on the Drake's website, 8cm, or are they wider?

Unfortunately, I find 8cm to be a bit narrow and I'd really prefer ties that are a bit wider - but I love the Drake's patterns.

I think they offer them in 7cm and 9cm, but I could be wrong.

You're right. WW Chan has Drakes ties in 8cm config though.

It's a refreshing business model and I hope it catches on. Especially the "good honest prices" part.

I wonder why so few stores worldwide take this approach. Maybe it only really works for ties, pocket squares, and other accessories. The inflated retail price + end of season sale model may be essential for RTW clothes - considerations of seasonality, price discrimination, attracting new customers, etc.
