Again, big thanks to Ethan at the Armoury for a speedy reply and delivery. These shoes made it from Hong Kong to New York in 2 business days (yes, 2) in perfect condition.
^ I'm not totally sure, but I think Simpson and Alcudia are basically twins, with the ending shape of the toe perhaps being the only difference. I've found the Alcudia to definitely be true to size in terms of how the length aligns with my instep and ball of my foot. The one aspect where I think a lot of folks get tripped up is that the heel/lacing/waist regions are fairly narrow and snug. If I had moved up half a size on the Alcudia (relative to the Forest and Robert lasts), I would not have been happy. Just my two cents...
I realize there's a separate thread for Carmina sizing, so I'm happy to move the discussion over there. Cheers.
You are correct, the Simpson and Alcudia are basically the same but with different toe boxes (Alcudia is an almond toe, Simpson is a chiseled toe). The difference is that I would be moving from one side of the spectrum to the other (wide to narrow), Inca/Rain (widest last) to the Simpson (narrow last). Therefore, I may have to go up a half size.

this is the 2nd carmina pair ive seen cap mismatching. very disappointing
Ethan has posted several great Carmino mto shoes in the past day -- http://ethandesu.tumblr.com/
There's a crocodile (for spoo???), and there are pics of both the Soller and Queens lasts, which we don't get many sightings of.
Anyone know where I can get lasted shoe trees for Carmina's?
After speaking with Allen (a few times) I've decided to make the plunge into a few pairs of Carmina's.
Looking forward!
I don't believe it to be cost effective for Teh Armoury to offer trees. Having said that, wouldn't it be obv to contact Carmina directly for trees?
I'm an idiot :D:D:D:D
I just quickly looked online at their website and just looks like they have generic trees.
I'll investigate further and let you guys know.
Thanks
How are the Grenfell Kensington's sized and are the ones with liner and without the same in size, or do the ones with liner get a little larger for the liner to fit?
