What should I do with this ostrich egg?

So I finally found one of these monsters at the whole foods in Greenwich this weekend and impulsively bought it without a clue of my culinary intentions. I was thinking of making a huge omelette out of it but wasn't really sure. Does anyone have experiences with ostrich eggs and can shed some light on the best way of using it?

I think you're pretty much stuck making an omelet. Or, you could make enough egg salad to make a month's worth of sandwiches.

Would make some freaking awesome heavy artillery if you want to egg someone's house or car on Halloween night. If you're above the age of 14, that probably won't be in your plans. But why not? Relive your youth a little bit.

Poach it.

I remember reading a few years ago that the bushmen traditionally dig a hole in the ground, layer it with some flammable material (grass?), place the egg inside, and light everything on fire. I can't find the original reference though, or remember more details. This guy made a scotch ostrich egg: http://www.blogjam.com/2005/05/15/scotch-ostrich-egg/

Soft boil it, eat it all, then light the biggest egg fart ever, put on youtube, post link here.

Don't know why, but eating that seems disgusting to me. I eat chicken eggs too.

Re-enact the scene in Cool Hand Luke where he eats 50 eggs in an hour by eating your 1 ostrich egg in an hour.

Put it in an incubator, hatch it, raise it, have ostrich a la orange for dinner.

Or if you're impatient, make an omelet.

Poach it and make an enormous eggs benedict

really the only way the 40$ price is justified is in entertainment value. a big omelette is a waste since you could simply use a lot of chicken eggs. I would go to a potluck and offer to bring deviled egg. everyone will think you are making a gramatical mistake until low and behold you produce a single deviled egg and blow them away.
what did you do with it by the way?
