Seriously thinking about pulling the trigger on a ToJ bomber but I can only afford one. Not trying to be a special flower but in general what is the difference *************** and a brown leather jacket? I know you can't really go wrong with either.

Difference in general? Color, usually.

Depends what shoes you'll usually wear with the leather.

Because SF members think their big threads are really helpful but whenever people ask questions they usually get ignored or only one person replies to them. The one response I got said that brown jackets had more of a casual vibe while the black ones seemed to be more fashiony and I wanted other people's views.

It's up to your shoes and personal taste. However, I'd choose a brown calfskin bomber.

I generally wear a lot of black/grey and very little brown. However I went with brown for a leather. I think it had to do with the fact that brown seems more casual for leather and also I had a sense of black leather really having a different vibe than black cotton/wool/nylon etc. and that it would look different against my skin tone/hair color. I think about these things a lot but never really understand any of it.

edit: ****, I totally misread the quote that I used.

This is why you normally try clothes on before buying them. It's hard to account for personal taste/appearance/style. You're the best judge of all of these things.

True but I think it's harder to do black leather with brown shoes.

I fully intend to wear my incoming DR with my rose/pink boots. I'd wager that a brown jacket looks more odd with black accessories than the other way around. Maybe?

I wouldn't mix brown and black leather, but a lot of other combos work fine. the leathers don't have to match to be complementary. your boots should go well with that leather.

I check and answer what I can, perhaps you should too. I'd bury this threak if Fok wouldn't dust off ye olde banhammer. Also, this is a matter completely of personal taste.

No offense, but: 1) look at the kind of question your asking and look at the kinds of answers you're getting so far. You might as well flip a ******* coin. 2) did you stop to think that the kinds of questions that don't get answered in stickies typically are the ones that are strictly personal taste like, "What's better: black or brown?" 3) so even though both the members and mods are on repeat about NOT starting threads like these, and even though you realize the kind of thread you start, you post them anyway? Kit, you have my permission here.
