Airline food is bland because of the noise.

Even if it does affect taste sensations, I'm pretty sure that airplane food just sucks, and that it has something to do with trying to keep ticket prices as low as possible and making food that has to be reheated or kept warm for hours before it's served.

+1. I was curious as to why first-class airplane food tends to taste better than coach in spite of similar levels of background noise. Also, loud bars with good food, street food, parties, etc.
