Sorry to bring this back up, I figured I owed posting this. I did go to the store. I'm surprised that there are so many people out there. Anyway, in the end I couldn't buy anything as for the pants 34" was an okay fit but they only had low waist ones which I'm not too familiar with. Then there was 36" standard waist ones, but they were too loose. So, no luck with that.

Then, for the top I gave shirts a try, but still I just can't seem to look comfortable in them. T-shirts... there were a lot to choose from. Medium size fit nicely, but it didn't have enough length towards the bottom. Large and XL was okay, but too saggy at the shoulders . Many others that did fit was too heavy a fabric for me to wear.

Guess, I'm the odd one out. Well at least I got to see how these stores work. It's amazing how I sound like someone who just found out what stores are. Maybe I was just lucky my brother-in-law agreed to drag me there. I would have crumbled at the sight of all these people. Well, the harsh responses from this forum helped too. Maybe I do have to stay strong to change. I hope my courage doesn't wane the next time around.

An aversion to buying clothes isn't a typical problem around here. Anyways, just buy something, its not that hard. There isn't much practical advice we can give you if all you want are some basic jeans and shirts. Go to a store that roughly fits the style/price you want, and don't leave until you have an outfit. Make that a rule for the next expedition.

Polos, Cardigans, Peacoats, Denim, and nice some Clarks.... so can rock that on anybody and they always look good

You do have to stay strong to change. You also should realize you are in charge of all your emotions and feelings. Don't let peoples negativity bring you down, use it as a source of power instead. I think its a really good step to finally walk into a store, and try stuff on. Plus, ideally you should be doing this more for recuperation and because it gives you a better idea of your size/how you fit in different garments from different brands.

I believe in having toughskin online because if you don't on the internet how the fuck can you survive the real world? Stop being pansies....not directed towards you, but these annoying people whining about others being mean.)

Why'd you buy L and XL if you're only 143 pounds?

Good luck man. With any issue in life you'll have two kinds of people...Some will encourage you and tell you you can do it, and others will just insult you and try to bring you down. Listen to both of them equally. If you just listen to the warm compliments, you won't get that kick in the ass you need. But if you only listen to the others you'll be destroyed. It's all in your hands and good luck in life. Don't give up, it'll take a while to get where you want and it's very easy to just drop everything.
