That probably would have been a better suggestion, clothing wise. If you've had a similar experience or want to be truly empathetic a PM probably would have been a good move but whatever, you seem to acknowledge that. To the OP -- start simple as all have suggested, dark jeans, simple button downs check out GAP, Banana Republic, Club Monaco, H&M and build from there. Spend a little more money on shoes and some outerwear. Also, try things on and find out what works for you.

high fashion is not an exoteric field of study. smugness is part of the process... personally, some of the members on this board are confused about the difference between enforcing posting norms and 'trolling'. why they have so much time on their hands, no one knows. perhaps spending so much time & money in the pursuit of luxury material possessions is not as fulfilling or eventful as one would initially think. I bet those new $300 jeans look great while you sit at your computer desk!

I'm not on the forum to ask about what jeans are acceptable, what colors go with what, etc. I've got that down. I want to talk about other neat shit, not have the entire front page be quick questions from people who are new to the forum. It's a forum of discussion, not fucking Yahoo Answers.

Rather than being the righteous rebel who fights on behalf of the little guy, just click the close box and let people who want to talk about fashion talk about fashion instead of constantly telling people where to buy APCs.
