Get 2 sets. Get a cheap one at Costco or the like that you'll use everyday. Get another one setting by setting for entertaining.

One of my hobbies is collecting/buying/selling china, flateware, silver etc.


I generally have a new set for every holiday. I have a theodore haviland set for thanksgiving and a blow flow for christmas. Yes they are ungodly amounts of money but I don't keep this stuff for long.

5k for a set I can sell for 5k next month is pretty good IMO.

I'm currently considering a Haviland set now that serves 8... What sort of patterns do you collect?

I buy alot of haviland china but my favorite is the cobalt blue and gold designs.
