Bachelor party in AC

What are some good hotels to stay at? We're most likely going to go on a weeknight, so prices shouldn't be as bad. Speaking of, how busy are the casinos/bars on weeknights? In general how strict are the hotels on the amount of guests per room? Thanks for the help, gents!

A good hotel in AC? ...I think the Borgata is the "best" in AC but even as I type this I chuckle

Well we won't be spending that much time in the hotel, it just has to be clean and in a good location, as well as not terribly expensive.

Forget staying on the boardwalk and just stay at Borgata...Whatever you do don't stay at Caesar's

Having never stayed in AC before, can you elaborate on why I should not stay on the boardwalk or at Caesar's? Thanks!

I would recommend staying on the boardwalk if Borgata was on it. It's not fantastic per se but it is far better than the other choices. You'll just have to travel to the boardwalk. Caesar's? Well, it's just...no good. 2/5 stars. I ate a pizza from room service that almost killed me and the management is so poor you'd think they were going out of their way to make the stay horrible. I know people don't go to AC to luxuriate but...yikes.

How close is the Borgata to the boardwalk (I assume this is where the casinos are)? How is the casino in the Borgata? It looks decent and the price on weekdays isn't bad.

The Borgata isn't close to the boardwalk at all, but is by far the nicest casino. It supposedly has one of the best clubs in AC and the hottest girls because it's where a bunch of high rollers go.

I was AC for a long weekend a few years ago. I stayed at a hotel on the boardwalk. It was a chain, our floor reeked of smoke (we planned to smoke, but damn the hallways smelled like they hadn't been cleaned in years), it was fine though - cheap rooms, cheap bar open all night and beer store across the street, short walk to the beach and outdoor bar at the Tropicana next door. We ate dinner, gambled and clubbed all at the borgata.

If you have money to spend, do it big at the borgata. If not, stay on the boardwalk and spend as much time as you can (eating, gambling, partying) at the borgata.

The Borgata is definitely the way to go ... there is a Jitney to the boardwalk like every 5 minutes and there are 2-3 other hotels on the bay side... but AC just isn't what it used to be, especially in the off season. The boardwalk is mostly bus-loads of senior citizens pumping pennies into slots while they slowly drain their oxygen tanks and look over their shoulders for the grim reaper.

WaterClub (inside of Borgata) also has nice standard rooms. I'd go with Borgata or WaterClub.

From Borgata to the main strip/boardwalk it's about a $10-12 cab ride if you do not want to take the jitney. If there's a bunch of you going you might have a hard time getting on to the same jitney. It only seats like 10 people and has no shocks/suspension so if you sit in the back be prepared to have your spine separated. Fair warning...

The casino in Borgata is the same as anywhere else. Pit games are pit games... it's the restaurants and club that separate it from the pack.

But if you guys play poker it's the nicest poker room by far. Only Harrah's comes close and even then it doesn't really compare.

Has the poker room at the Taj gone down-hill that badly? I do love borgata's poker room.. even better than the Bellagio

+1 to Borgata. Overall the best place in AC. My parents are there right now actually...

Agree with everyone here. Borgata is the way to go. When I go to AC, I stay at the Trop but hang out at the Borgata....The club is cool as is the siteseeing!

For those in the know: - What's the weather going to be like in AC in the beginning of January? - How busy will the hotels/casinos and surrounding area be in January on a Tuesday or Wednesday night? - Is it worth spending the extra money to spring for a room at the Water Club instead of the regular Borgata?
