The Simpsons have always mocked Fox-- both Fox programming (Married With Children, The O'Reilly Factor, &c.) and Rupert Murdoch himself.

Right, my point is that the people at Fox probably couldn't care less about the anti-Fox sentiment perpetuated by creative folks at the The Simpsons because 1) That sentiment has never prompted anything so far but a few laughs and 2) that The Simpson's makes Fox CRAZY $$$$. In essence, The Simpson's pokes the Fox network in the ribs and then dolls out a few mill. I'm not reducing the criticisms voiced in The Simpson's to being purely cynical and being without merit, but I'm trying to explain why I don't think it's particularly shocking and why the network tolerates it. There may also be organizational and legal aspects that prevent Fox from getting involved as well, but I think in all likelihood they aren't concerned with the show's musings.

i doubt FOX/Murdoch cares about anything other than making money.

Even his fanatical support of right wing parties has a media ownership laws angle to it.

Kudos to a great artist, I think that is one of the most clever ones I've ever seen.

According to Wikipedia:

Jim Brooks negotiated a provision in the contract with the Fox network that prevented Fox from interfering with the show's content

So I don't think it has anything to do with Fox not caring about how they are portrayed. You can bet they do care. But they can't do shit about it.
