Stylish halloween costumes?

The time rolls around again. I am attending a Halloween party on Friday night that will be held outside (brrr). Keep in mind I'm in college. I want to find a killer costume or celebrity to impersonate. Last year I was hugh hefner, silk bathrobe, pipe and a bunny. This year, I'm going solo and want to look stylish, but figure out a great costume. Any ideas... Thanks for your help, Pete

I suggest Oscar Wilde or maybe Marcel Proust. If you go for Cary Grant it seems rather unnoticeable as a suit to most people is just a suit.

How about a joint? That's what I'm going as this year. Post us a picture and let's see if we can't find someone thatyou look like? I have a friend that looked EXACTLY like Tony Soprano, showed up in a jogging suit and everyone loved it.

mr. burns duffman a doctor (there will be at least one nurse at the party) mexican wrestler (with mask) sumo wrestler any james bond villain or dr. evil i personally prefer scary halloween costumes like "ghost of sumo wrestler" or mr. burns dressed up as dracula. this will be the first time in several years that i'm going to dress up. my choices are priest, ghost of matador, or homer simpson. haven't decided yet.

I'm going as Seto Kaiba, but I doubt too many people will recognize it.

Thanks for the ideas... I'm still unsure. Here's a photo as requested.

pete, is that you or your costume? mr. thracozaag, who the hell is seto kaiba? (i'm guessing a japanese musician.) i knew an italian guy named seto once, but i think it was short for something else. btw, what happened to mr. naturlaut? we miss his expertise.

It's even geekier than you can imagine...Seto Kaiba is a character from a japanese anime...Yu-gi-oh. He generally wears a blue trenchcoat and carries a metallic briefcase.

OH. that's what the blue trench coat is. The Audubon Zoo had trick or treating for kids that don't have a great area to go in, and so many little kids were this "Seto" character. Pete, You could always decorate a box, wear it, and be "God's Gift to Women." Just remember the tag (To: Women // From: God) haha, and make sure the people who you'll be around know it's supposed to be funny -- not cocky.

From your picture it seems you bear a resemblence to the James Bond character Jaws(?). Anyways you could wear a suit, and somehow find some steel type teeth to put on.

I think I can sort of pull it off just because in Japanese cartoons, they have a tendency to anglicize even their japanese characters. My friend jokingly told me if they ever do a live action Akira, I should audition.

Jeez - You guys are creative. I was just going to go as Woody from Toy Story. Tuck my jeans in my boots, throw on a yellow shirt and funky vest I have, tie a bandanna around my neck and wear a cowboy hat. Bradford

I've read that one of the hot costumes this year is Steve Bartman, the hapless Cubs fan.  All you need is glasses, a Cubs hat, thick headphones, a baseball glove, and a baseball (that you can occasionally bobble for effect).  Pour a beer on yourself for added authenticity.
