High-rise jean question

Yalls, I almost always wear low-rise or mid-rise jeans. In the case that they are mid-rise, I wear them a bit low anyway. Of course, I do not tuck shirts into low-rise jeans as it looks a bit silly, at least on me. Here's the thing - I am generally thin but have an ass and thighs. So mid-rise jeans naturally squeeze me too much if not worn a bit low (I wear semi-slim fit. Not Bklyn hipster-skinny but not average fratboy loose either. Generally more on the side of skinny for sure.) But I want to buy some jeans that can be worn with tucked in shirts. 99% of times I see this look, the jeans look like frumpy mom jeans. High-rise jeans are just really hard to pull off, I feel. I can't go for anything too skinny AND high-rise as these will squeeze my junk/thighs too much and look like girl jeans. But I want to avoid the frumpy look at all costs. Does anyone have any pics/examples/recs of high-rise jeans that kind of have a slim dress pant silhouette and can be worn with tucked in shirts? My old Diesel Vikers did an okay job of this, but I'm looking for something else. Thanks.

What's "mid-rise" or "high-rise" to you?

I dunno man, I just mean high-rise as in jeans I would wear to the level of dress pants on my waist or a bit lower. Dress pant-level is probably too high for any jean.

I believe you're misusing the term rise. High rise = large rise measurement = roomier crotch. Low rise = low rise measurement = tight crotch

In that case APC NS would be low-rise and Levi's mid-rise.

Okay, do-over. Forget what I wrote earlier.

The new question is: What jeans are good to wear with tucked in shirts? I am looking for a jean that comes up higher on the waist and still looks good.

I'd recommend trying on the Warehouse 800. Depending on what fit you are looking for you could go TTS or one size down. Since you are in NYC, stop by Blue in Green, you should be able to find a higher rise jean in a variety of fits.

A quick google search yields this:

Not bad. Might try it out.

'47s are more relaxed & got the v-cut top block. judging from his sample fit pics, i'd say model '66 based cuts w/around 11 inches front rise [ei., for tagged W32-34]. what's op's price range?

I'm really not a jean snob so ideally $150 or less. Especially since I will only be wearing these sparingly (when I want to tuck a shirt in). I have been know to go to $200 before but that is the absolute ceiling.

Maybe you should just wear chinos or slacks then. A good pair of 12 - 14oz denim probably won't drape the way you want. Every pair of Left Fields(Kuroki slub especially) I've tried on fit me pretty well so that's what I recommend, but they're not very dressy. Pretty slim for a straight though.

epaulet Smiths are probably more mid-rise but work with a tuck.

I think naked and famous slim guys could work too.

APC Rescue cuz i used to have them__ but, i have no personal experience with the other models. however, the brand is quite popular here, so just wait for current owners to chime in.

I don't tuck my jeans often, but when I do, I do it with 3sixteens slim tapered. They're in your price range, have a slightly long rise too.
