There is nothing more invigorating than a clean slate and nothing like a new intensive fitness routine to keep you from wallowing in the past and focused on the future. Change is good and changing your exercise habits will accelerate results. The emotional rollercoaster that one goes through after a breakup is erratic and varied. One may feel sad, angry, resentful, excited, regretful, disappointed and countless other emotions after a relationship ends. With fall just around the corner, September is a good month to channel those feelings of anger and resentment into your fitness routine. There is nothing like a new fit figure that can make one feel more fierce and ready to move on to the next mate and date. There are a few times throughout the course of a year when many clients will be going through a breakup. These times are usually towards the end of a season such as the end of fall before winter or the end of spring before summer. There was male client, David, who started doing Pilates last winter because he wanted to surprise his then girlfriend with semi private sessions. His girlfriend had been doing Pilates for a few years now so he started coming to the studio without her knowing so that he could work up to her level. However, David and his girlfriend broke up in March and he was never able to tell her that he had been taking Pilates sessions twice a week for the past few months in order to be able to take semi private sessions with her. Distraught, David was going to stop coming to the studio and doing Pilates. His instructor pointed out how much leaner and stronger he was and encouraged him to keep coming even though it seemed pointless to him at the time. Indeed, by the middle of April, David began to notice how much better he looked and gained new confidence that helped him to start dating again.
