Sleek chukka that is not Tetbury

I recently bought a pair of Alfred Sargent Havant chukkas, and don't think they're as sleek as I'd like them to be. I'd like to find a sleeker pair, but something that's not as pointy as the C&J Tetburys.

Suggestions on other sleek chukkas? I'd like to get something in between the Havants (89 last), and the Tetbury (348 last). Been looking at the C&J Brecon (341 last), but haven't tried them on, and also can't seem to find a good deal on them. Suggestions?

I picked up these St. Crispin's chukkas on the chiseled last from Ian at STF and absolutely love them.

I have a pair of Brecons. I too considered the tetbury but found them too pointy for my tastes. I wouldn't think twice about paying retail for them...especially if they are exactly what you are looking for (mine were obtained through ebay...they were very slightly used and could have passed for new...I think I paid $125 for them). Another option may be Loake Kemptons. I dont personally own a pair but from the pics i've seen, they seem very similar in the toe shape as the Brecons.

Curious on what size you are, and when you scored those. That sounds like an amazing deal.

I have both Tetbury in calf and Loake Kempton. One of my latest purchases was a pair of Cheaney Crawley from ebay, available here. They are not as pointy as C&J, neither as dull/rounded as the Loake Kemptons.

It was well over a yr ago. I got lucky. it was a bad listing, with only one very dark pic.
I'm a 9D..the Brecons are marked 8E. They were made for barneys I believe so the sizing was in US...and luckily they ended up fitting perfectly!

U or F last? Pics?

I have the U-last since that fits me the best. No pics as of now, but here are edmorel's on the U in the same color I own - medium brown suede.

Very nice, David. I was hoping you had the F last, as that fits me much better than the U. Was giving serious consideration to an F last chukka when I ran into those St. Crispin's. May still pull the trigger in the mid brown suede...

I'm sure the F last would still look great. I have a pair of PTB derbies in dark brown suede en route in the F last that will hopefully fit. I was off a half size in my previous order. In terms of experimenting with a new last, I feel suede can at least be more forgiving.

FWIW, Ian had about 3 dozen pairs of St. Crispin's at a VERY good price...
