Pleated Dress Shirts- Always for formal, tux??

While I have always thought this to be true, we have about 20 or so handmade pleated, in both cotton and linen, in white, pink, and light blue. These are from the store Venanzi, and I just have a difficult time believing that these were intended for formal wear. I have most everything they sold, and they didn't sell any tuxes. And I doubt it would be in Venanzi's ethos to wear these with a tux, with the extremely classic look he seemed to aim for. Am I missing something? Are these possibly specific to the day formal wear I've been seeing discussed a bit? Just trying to find some use for these. Any replies are appreciated. White linen light blue

Rick, I am sure that those are formal shirts. I gather that you doubt that because of the colors that some were made up in? Many old line English makers (New & Lingwood, for one) offer formal shirts in blue as well as pink and cream ( silk). If the buttons are not attached to a cloth strip for removal and substitution of studs, that would be an oddity for a formal shirt.
Cheers! RBP

I have not seen them outside of formal wear and it is my understanding that they are not to be worn any other way.

Coloured pleated dress shirts are great for entertaining in your own home, especailly when wearing a smoking jacket in lieu of a dinner jacket.
