Personal best and where you are now.

Thought this would be interesting.

I'm pretty much half the man I used to be in the gym. Took a few months off to drop a little weight, just did home workouts and a little cardio. finally have time to get back in the gym and now I'm hitting it hard again.

It's crazy how fast I've lost stuff. After 2 weeks back into weight training I've gotten used to it again and have better muscular endurance. I want to get back up to my old personal bests but this time -17ish lbs of body weight.

I went from 6'0 (well 6' 1/2") 197 around 13-14% BF, Now I'm sitting at 180lbs and under 10%

Former max:

Bench: 275
Squat: 325
Dead Lift: 420

Now:
Bench: 225
Squat: 285
Dead Lift: 365

I plan on getting back to all my former max's by Christmas. I know bench press will be my hardest one.

So where were you and where are you now?

I'm sure most of you will probably be stronger than you used to.

Currently in the best shape I've been in since high school 10 years ago. 5'11" and for the first time since high school I weighed in this morning a smidge under 170 lbs. Was 195 in July and started eating healthier and working out daily. As far as numbers, I don't have a clue but have added a lot more strength as well. I have yet to get a gym membership and do all my workouts at home with a treadmill, dumbbells, chin up bar, and a bowflex (yeah I know but it actually is pretty good for home gym equipment). Will switch it up and get into a gym routine around the end of the year when my buddy and gym partner gets cleared from the docs to start working out again. I have always had a much stronger lower body than upper body but the last time i did squats, bench press, etc. was when I was a freshman in high school. My bench was pretty weak back then at around 135-150 lbs, but my squats was 375 and leg press was whatever the machine maxed out at. It will be interesting to see where I am at once I get off my current at home routine and go to the gym.

Some strong guys here. Skinny twig myself.

Best: 5'7ish, 135lb.
Squat: 215 3x5
Bench: 185 3x5
Press: 110 3x5
Deadlift: 270 1x5

Serious hip pain and adjusting to life after graduation kept me out of the gym for about 12 weeks. Been going back about 2-3 times a week again doing starting strength. Hard to muster the motivation when I'm only lifting half as much. Hips still hurting a bit... then the flu takes me out for this week. Probably down to 125lb now.

Got some pretty strong dus here... Currently: 5'7" 155lb. BF-8-10% Deads: 315x3 Press: 130x3 Bench: 225x2 Squat: 255x3 I'm stronger now than I ever have been, although my dead has been up to 350 a few months ago. It's always been my favorite exercise so that's probably why there is such a difference between them and the other lifts.

Rikkar we're neck and neck--just gotta get my Dead #'s up. How long you been lifting?
Rikkar- what kind of press at 130? Military?

I don't lift for max's much (at 44 the recovery gets longer and longer )
Heavy leg day this week though and a a buddy and I did so a few one-rep max supersets.

For example: Squat 335x1 + Angled Leg Press 900x1

Whereas my flat bench sucks... ~235x1 and a weak one at that.

Yup, pretty similar stats for sure GN. I've lifted for all four years of college but three of them were spent doing one body part splits a day straight out of FLEX I mean, it definitely helped put size on my frame (gained about 25lbs. in 4 years) but my strength just wasn't matching it. For about a year now I've been building programs around the big four lifts and focusing on low reps and explosiveness with not too much accessory work to distract. Strength has def. improved CG, the press is a strict push press; I find it works the shoulders more effectively due to the more explosive movement.
