What do wear for hanging out with girls half my age?

I haven't seen any threads about this, though I tried searching. I'm in a band with two 18-year-old singers, and a guitarist who's about my age. We work together well but that age gap makes it kind of a challenge to look like a coherent unit, whether on stage, in photos or in videos. I know that what I wear is far from the most important thing that will make us look like we all really are a band, but this is a style forum, so...

I want to keep people from thinking "what the hell is that guy doing up there, looks like he'd rather be playing in a different band" or "whoa, is that a middle-aged couple with their daughters?" If I showed up in, say, a conservatively cut suit that would probably happen. But I don't want to wear stuff that generally "blends in" too much, either - looking no different than any random dude from the crowd is not good. We play acoustic pop, so there's no particular costume or dress code. So, just give me some ideas. That could make for a fun thread.

For reference, this is what they looked like at recent gigs:

So they're not into giant logos or wild patterns or anything like that. Their hair colors do change every few weeks, though. A few more photos and some live videos at http://www.myspace.com/kojacezajace. And don't laugh at us for using Myspace in 2010, we're from a poor country and it's still OK for bands to use it here.

seeing that OP comes from poland, this came to my mind in a jiffy. " the car might have a GPS system “that only goes to Poland”. --jeremy clarkson and on a more serious note, get shirting stuff from Epaulet/Gitman/the likes, wear jeans, shave and you will be set.

Good call, I rarely wear jeans but I do have a few pairs pretty much just for gigs. Though I will resist shaving even when I realize it's a good idea!

Hmmm. Yes. A linen jacket of some sort would be good - I tend to move around a lot and play simple parts overly theatrically, so I probably shouldn't wear anything too warm.

Let's try something more specific. Do y'all think this shirt would be too much/too loud for this context? Ridiculous pattern, sure, but subtle colors. Among my dozen or so silly shirts, this is probably the least silly.

so you prefer to look like an older guy taht can't dress for shit?

if you're going to do multi-colored you may as well go for something plaid or even a large check gingham perhaps. i know james murphy can pull off the latter like its nobody's business and he's pushing 40, so you really can't go wrong there.

Yup, I do have some plaids that would work. While I'm not gonna build my entire wardrobe around just one band (out of the three or four I'm playing in at any given time), I probably should pick up a couple of more subtle plaid shirts. Large blue gingham, a large mostly grey plaid, maybe something greenish? James Murphy is probably a good guy to imitate. Just google a bunch of pictures, sort them into "he looks old and boring and tired" and "he looks old but not boring or tired", and see what causes the differences, haha.
