Can I do this with dark jeans rolled up and winter boots?

i think formal boots would give you a more polished look without the cuffs.

I've done sports coats with jeans more then I care to admit. It's not bad and I seem to rip slacks alot. I am the companies unofficial IT guy so it happens.

A navy or black sports coat looks terrible with jeans. Alot of other colors work well though.

I also try and stay away from solid color shirts when doing this. Something with a more trendy pattern works for me. If it's a solid dress shirt I feel like I need to tuck it in.

It's a hard thing to pull off. I would just look in the mirror a few times to make sure it worked.

I'm wearing this combo to the bar tonight. Dark indigoraw canvas jeans, burgundy lace-up kicks, white OCBD, grey quarter-zip sweater and herringbone blazer. I think it looks pretty sharp, though admittedly it's for casual going-out and not work.
