If you have a Whole Foods nearby, you should go check out their Whole Body section and look for products that meet their Premium Body Care standards. Those are usually the purest stuff that is easily available in the market. However, if you want to save money I would then go compare WF price to what swansonvitamins.com and vitacost.com is selling it...I usually buy from Swanson, and it's an average of 50% cheaper than what WF sells.
Some good products off the top of my head are Desert Essence Original Face Wash (
http://www.desertessence.com/skin-care/thoroughly-clean-face-wash-original), you can usually find this on Amazon or Swanson for a lot cheaper...look for the 32oz container which literally can last you a whole year.
Aubrey Men's Stock line is also pretty good...I use their deodorant.
Kiss My Face recently reformulated their shaving cream so it doesn't have parabans.. it's reasonably price. I got a container on sale at WF for $5.00 and its lasted me about 6 months. It also works better than conventional shaving creams.
Badger's Sunscreen is great..it uses a physical sunscreen rather than a chemical one so you can get that "white" look, if you want minimize it, try SPF 15 (SPF 15 blocks 94% of UVA/UVB rays while SPF 30 blocks 97% of UVA/UVB). They use all natural/organic ingredients as well.
For a moisturizer, I just use pure Jojoba oil. It's technically not an oil but an ester. It has molecular structure to human sebum, thus it is absorbed really well by our skin and hair. It actually helps stop break outs, and keeps your skin even. I'm pretty lazy so I don't use it all the time, but whenever I have chapped lips or hands I put a little on and it fixes it quickly
Frankly, I would avoid places like Origins, Aveda, and Lush...they are way too overpriced for what they are.
