So what's the most powerful movie you've seen?

Not necessarily:

-the best
-the funniest
-the scariest
-the most entertaining

I'll let a few responses filter in before I throw out mine to see if others are thinking the same thing

I saw Saving Private Ryan when I was super young--about 13--and I remember being overwhelmed with emotion. The most shocking scene was the landing on the beach. I also watched Deer Hunter and Apocalypse Now soon after. If I had to pick one, Apocalypse Now was the most powerful for me. That movie gets better every time I see it. The deep symbolic meanings, the themes, the character development, they are all top-notch. Read Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad. The movie is very loosely based off of that novella, but comparing them was fun for me when I wrote an essay about the movie.

Forgot about that one. Very true. I cringed during the prison scene...you know the one. Additionally, when Edward Furlong {{{{{{SPOILER}}}}}}} got shot, I couldn't help but get emotional.

Triumph Of The Will?

I guess it depends on how you define "powerful".
Well crafted propaganda is a very powerful thing. Look at the results.
