Best Hair Clippers

I'm looking for new ones of good quality. I cut my own hair so I don't mind investing a bit in something that's worth it. The cheap one I had burned out today and my hair is only half finished so any suggestions are welcome.

Cordless are no good?

I have no experience with them myself, but Oster Classic 76 are supposed to be the best. $20 Wahl's have served me well though

Cordless ones I've tried suck. Do a search here. You should find a good thread that was awhile back. I don't remember the 2 brands suggested, but I do know that attachments blow. Get a make/model that you swap out the guards rather than deal with plastic attachments. The $20 - $40 models last me about 2 years before they crap out.

I've heard the same.

Cordless hair clippers are useless if you have thick hair. I bought a good set of Wahl clippers over 5 years ago and I haven't had any problems since. I think they cost around $75. Buy a good set of clippers and you will save $$$ on haircuts.

Ditto on the Wahl clippers. I own two made by Wahl. One is about 2 years old, and, the other is about 6 or 7 years old, Wahl makes a quality product.

Thanks, ending up getting the Wahl today. It was pretty cheap so I'm not sure if it's a good model. Still would like to hear from others of a top quality one that will last long term.

Oster 76 wins, they will be my next purchase.

I just checked out the Oster 76 clippers and they do look quite good. If I ever need to replace my Wahl professional clippers, I would probably give the Oster 76 a try. Good choice.

I have the Andis equivalent of the Oster 76 - the Excel II. I can happily recommend it. Honestly, so long as it the clipper has detachable blades, and more than one speed, it'll be all you need.

Do you guys have any recommendations on where to purchase the oster's, or quality clippers in general? Is ebay okay?
