While I was in Toronto this May, hanging out at my favourite store in Yorkville: Serpentine. And the owners were showing me some cool shit they got for FW, most of the brands were fairly well known (such as Julius, Boris Bijan Saberi, Diet Butcher, etc.) but one brand that had some interesting pieces I had never heard of... this brand is In Aisce.
Pieces are made in NYC, a google search reveals a very small Superfuture topic on it from 2009, which I believe when the brand was founded. And, of course, there is a big SZ thread on it. The brand seems to merge goth-ninja with military pieces, so it's less grungy and a bit more clean cut. I saw some pieces in person that looked pretty awesome, I think I tried a jacket on but I can't quite remember. Anyone have experience with this brand? Seems pretty fun. I'm not sure what the pricepoint is, although I'd assume it's probably within the same range of other gothy brands.
The designer is apparently very new at the game, but he seems to have some cool pieces with a bit of a different feel than what else is. Some things on the website look a little silly (like the fluffy suspender type things,) but I think he's having fun with it and there are definitely some cool pieces, especially the pants for SS11 and some of the jackets from FW10. I haven't seen it talked about much on this site, so, discuss!
