btw not a spam post to advertise any particular replica watch sites...

I've come across some money lately and was thinking of purchasing a Rolex Air King.

After doing some research on time pieces, I have come to a couple of realizations:

IWC's are universally recognized as the best watches. Rich in history and prestige.

Panerai = Poser's watch

Rolex = Best replicated watch

So where's the sense in buying a real rolex for 6K? when I can buy a replicated one for 10X less and of equal quality?

A watch is the most important accessory on a man as it gives the man his perceived status.... Wearing a replica Rolex that even jewellers can't tell apart will give you that perception of class that you were looking for. So why not be smart about things and choose the alternative route? It isn't sensible to drop 6-7K on a watch when all it does is tell time.

Just imo

What do you think?

It's a fake, you'll know you are wearing a fake, and you're helping to rip off Rolex. I can't think of anything less classy to wear. A Timex would be better.
Oh, and I'm not a watch expert but I don't think your claims on IWC and Panerai are correct either. There are quite a few excellent watch brands out there.

The thing about perception isn't what you know. It's what others perceive.

When I buy an on-sale suit for 10% of the retail price.... I will still feel like I'm wearing a thousand dollar suit.

What about the poser feeling you'll get from wearing a replica?

the difference between a 6K watch and a fake one, is well...craftmanship. If you think a 200 dollar ripoff will last you as long and be as well built as the genuine then you have rocks in your head. If you are buying one to show off....then get a knock off.

Literally everything in your post is completely off base. I dont know any watch collector that would agree that IWC makes the best watches. not even close. They are great watches no doubt...I love mine...and Panerai for posers? Id go a step further and maybe say Knock off watches are for posers. Save up and buy something real.

panerai = other people perceive you as douche/poser

replica rolex = only I know. I think I can live with that. Other people still perceive me as a classy Rolex guy.

At the end of the day, it's whatever makes you happy. If you're around people who you need to feel you need to impress all the time, the watch is the least of your worries.

You are still wearing a suit of the same quality as if you had paid $1000. In this example the price paid is irrelevant. If wearing fake goods and presenting a certain (false) image of yourself to others makes you feel good about yourself then go for it. I don't understand the purpose.
