Music for running - Page 2

I haven't been running to music lately though I used to always run to the DJ Steve Boy podrunner mixes. He has them sorted by bpm so you can choose whatever's appropriate for your pace

A-trak - Nike run track

Or

Swedish House Mafia, Errol Alkann

Trashy electro house is so good for 5km runs.

Anything classic (Mozart, Beethoven) and sometimes I enjoy sounds of yesterday (Chicago (early), Blood, Sweat and Tears. I don't have to have multi-tempo, however the slower sections in some of my classic selections give my 70 year old body to breath.

Right now I'm up on VNV Nation, also like Neurotic Fish and BassHunter. House music is also a good choice.

808s and Heartbreaks by Kanye West. Not a great hip hop album, but a great running album. Also Girl Talk, Feed the Animals. The key is prominent percussion to time your steps and pump you up.

LCD Soundsystem, Daft Pun, Dan Deacon, and Girl Talk are my favorites for running. I usually toss in a little bit of hip hop like Kanye West or Jay-Z and some old Run D.M.C. and Beastie Boys. My favorite music is lo-fi stuff like Lou Barlow, Will Oldham, Smog, Scud Mountain Boys, etc. but that just doesn't cut it when I am trying to run or work out.
