Denim Specialists Vs. Other Brands

So, are you the kind of person who only buys denim for denim specialists such as Levi's, Seven For All Mankind, Naked And Famous, Nudie Jeans, and even Dior Homme (not specialists, but they're denim is at least somewhat known), etc.. or would you buy a pair of denim from say a brand like Burberry, or Emporio Armani - brands who aren't known for their denim, if the denim still looked nice, fit well and the price was right? I'm curious because I've surprisingly seen some nice denim from brands like Burberry and Armani, yet I'm still skeptical to buy from them since I'm not familiar with their denim.

The two things I look at are the denim's durability and the cut. But the silhouette doesn't matter much because I almost always get straight legs.
