Like the ones in the Gilt sale. Any thoughts on quality?

Looks like they're decent quality, but the designs are... whack, to say the least.

Really? I thought these were kinda nicely traditional:

Hm, OK, those aren't bad. I kind of don't really understand the whole polished-and-shiny-as-if-an-oxford-but-really-a-desert-boot thing...

I like my desert boots nice and rugged and just manly and in kicking bears deep in the woods mode.

Ya there were a pair of Ted Baker's a little while ago on Guilt that I should have snatched but they sold before I could. They were the textured leather. Looked like Billykirk belt.

Niiice. I've given up trying to get anything on Gilt when there's a big sale like yesterday's. Only thing I could snatch up was a Buckler gingham.

Ya I think they've started listing sizes they never had in the first place.

I got a pair from Oak earlier this year. Ended up selling them on eBay, they crease badly and the lacing/eyelets ultimately put me off too much. Replaced them with Canali 3 hole chukkas from aj_del on B&S. Great purchase.

I bought the dark gray ones. I guess I'm keeping them (final sale from gilt a while back), but I am not impressed with anything construction-wise.

Pass if it's a conventional color (black, brown, brown suede, etc), would only consider if on sale and I needed one of the less common colors (grey, dark grey, grey suede, etc). Even then, quality is not very good.

I think the only heutchy models I would look at today are the grey suedes. Even then, there has to be better sources out there - grenson rushden, for example.

Ya I think I'm gonna take a dive on bach's OCs he has listed on B&S. Even though they are older I think they will be better quality and I'll be more satisfied.

Are you going for the dark grey? Those are the one's I have.

They are not as dark as they appear in the pictures. Not even close.

^No I meant some Opening Ceremony's that Bach has posted on B&S. They aren't black but hey. I might just have to roll with the whole black coat/brown shoes. It seems to be more acceptable today.
