We've done crostinis about 5 different ways on the site, and decided to try the cousin of the crostini - bruschetta. Both are just about the same thing - toasted bread with some sort of savory topping - but the Americanization of bruschetta usually involves a tomato topping. This is our version and it is an absolute home run. Did I mention the balsamic reduction sauce and the mascarpone cheese?

Looks great, must try that. However, I remain faithful to the traditional: toasted break, rub garlic, add a mix of chopped tomatoes. Top with basil and olive oil. I think I do this on average twice a week and when I have people over.
