Wines with food

Tomorrow I'm planning on cooking Pad Thai for dinner... Wondering what a good wine paring for this is?
I'm thinking a Sauvignon Blanc? Perhaps a Bordeaux Sauvignon/ Semillon blend?
I much prefer reds though…. Any suggestions?

Here are some of my matches made in heaven:
Asparagus with Hollandaise РPouilly Fum̩e
Roasted Lamb rack with Rosemary – St. Emilion
Pizza – Chianti
Roman Style Hunter’s stew – Aged Barolo
Grilled Lobster – Puligny Montrachet
Sushi and Sashimi – Champagne
Rare Roast Beef - Vosne Romanée
Baked Sea Bass – Chablis

share any of your own...

I've seen Rieslings paired with Pad Thai to good effect, and Ausleses are great as well with them.

German, Austrian or Alsatian Riesling?

I've seen German, but I think you'd have equally good results with Austrian or Alsastian Rieslings, in fact I remember some good Alsace wines being used with Thai food in general.

Alsatian Riesling is good with Pad Thai, though the off dry versions from other parts of the world work a bit better. Gewurz, contrary to popular opinion, is not very good.
