True (I certainly do the same), but if he has any serious intentions to research a possible move to DC for his field of interest, he would well advised to reach out to his alumni network.

Try state politics/lobbying. It really only works in the bigger states though. In NY for example, there are innumerable lobbyists who make six figures. Wyoming, there are probably 4.
