sunday in NYC

ok, my wife and I will have a sunday in NYC in a couple of weeks - maybe 9-10 am to 5 pm on sunday. we will get to the Met, we will eat in one of 3 places - Katz's, Joe's Ginger or Srirapai (basically places that we used to go to on a regualr basis when we lived in new york). aside from that we have a few hours. Any suggestions for stuff that is going on that we really should hit? museum shows, specific events, anything interesting?

take a water taxi from the south street seaport to brooklyn heights and walk around the promenade and eat at the river cafe.

Since you're going to be down town, I'd suggest just shopping. Have you been to the J Crew men's store in TriBeCa? It's really something to see.
