Hey guys, a buddy and I recently made a video for a contest on Facebook. We're trying to reach as many people as possible- if you can take 3 minutes to watch and "like" the video I would really appreciate it; if not, the youtube link is provided below. *We've simplified things; just follow the link below to easily "like" our video* https://sites.google.com/site/cudicontest/ If you'd just like to see the video, here it is Love and hate is equally appreciated.

I think the opening 16 seconds fit sort of awkwardly in the context of the whole video, but I see why it was included. Overall though, it's pretty good and a lot better than a couple other entries I watched. Random pet peeves: 1:02 and 1:13- I don't think the shallow DOF is effective here, as there is only a portion of a second where a subject is in focus. Kind of looks like a Claratin D commercial. Also, a 2-minute video probably shouldn't have recycled shots. 1:37- Kind of weird to watch you lip-syncing with the song

The contest was extended to the 11th of this month! Unfortunately we're still way behind We did manage to cut down the steps involved so hopefully that helps. @monday: thanks for taking the time to detail some C&C. I definitely see where you're coming from with each point made. @vett: thank you for taking the time to watch it, and thanks for the compliment. I'm sorry you found it boring :/

Song, haircut and lighting are all aggressively bad. I guess shot composition is ok? are you a first year film student at a community college in a midwestern state?

While everything was naturally lit, what specifically bothered you?

I'll go ahead and entertain the last comment which can easily be construed as a subtle jab: I am a sophomore at Cal State University Long Beach; you're pre-film until junior year, so if all goes according to plan I will be studying cinematography and making my way towards becoming a DP after graduation.
