Not really enjoying my job - Page 2

Work for a company that has high marketshare and doesn't do anything but collect money. I get paid to post on SF all day.

I worked for a company I couldn't stand, doing work that annoyed me, with fun and equally miserable co-workers for a little over 2 years. The people were the only thing that made it bearable.

OP, start looking for a new job. In the mean time, focus on doing the best possible work you can and start networking.

While having a job is quite nice at this time (and fortunate) 35k for 60+ hours a week is not good pay.

There are good jobs out there, they may be in some place you don't want to go. I know for a fact there are lots of jobs available in the midwest (Iowa, Nebraska, SD even Texas) that pay well, but they are not in the big flashy city so interest is lower.

Yeah, that's why they call it a job. And yes, I know that there are other "jobs" that provide a great amount of enjoyment, but that's a whole different story.

suck it up and deal with it offers no real information - how about an intellectual challenge that supports growth and expansion

+ Fucking 1.

I hated my previous job, but I stuck it out, did good work, and started looking for another job after putting in 8 months. After some lackadaisical searching, I found a much better position with much more interesting work. Deal with the shitty job, but keep an eye open for opportunities... i.e. Suck it up and deal with it.

Everything here is all so very formal... is it like this in other companies (this is my first job) in America or is it different at other companies?

No. Get some experience, use it as a stepping stone and then pop smoke.

Is this what you say in order to make yourself feel better about working in retail?

i also feel meh about my job... but i make over 6 figures and suffer through it by buying myself things. However, this may be just me not knowing how good I have it (its my first job), and I may regret this when I switch jobs.
