Hairstylist: how much tip? - Page 2

$35.00 cut, $7.00 tip. Same guy who washes my hair cuts it, and he's been doing so for about 12 years. Best cut I ever got; I just hope that as long as I stay in Boston, he does too, and that he outlives me. @ Xmas time, I slip him an extra $40.00-50.00. - AJL

I get a $30 haircut out here in suburbia. I tip $10 and leave the hair washing girl another $2.

my wife cuts mine, never left a tip. Maybe I should reconsider.

100 Pounds at Toni & Guy, and I tip 5 pounds, but in America the amount you tip is crazy.

I guess so, but London is expensive... I would think NYC and LA cost the same

CAN$18 for shampoo and cut, plus CAN$2 tip. (About US$15 total for those unwilling to do that math.) This is at a neighbourhood "salon" across town that I've been going to for years. I used to get very expensive cuts, until I decided the pretention wasn't worth wasting an extra $500 per year.

I pay $25 at a Scottsdale salon and tip $5 on top of that. At my salon, the stylists wash the hair themselves, so no need to tip another person beyond my regular gal. Bradford
