Mac guys: Any way to get all web sites centered horizontally on screen?

Need a tip from the Mac guys. I'm working with a new 21" iMac and when it displays websites they're often off to the left. Especially SF which is way off to the left so I have to turn my head to view it. Its getting annoying moving the browser back and forth across the screen. Any program or web tool to get the websites to format in the center of the screen so that I don't have to keep moving everything around?

Not sure how to center the page, except if you just stretch the window to fit the entire screen.

a new window will open pretty much where you closed the last window in the same size and place. so any new windows that you want in the center be make sure the last closed browser window is where you want it (presumably in your case in the center) before closing it. so just press command+N in your browser. reposition the window to the size and place you want it on the monitor. close it. now press command+N and see if your browser window is where you want it.

I should have been more specific. With the width of the monitor, if I browse a site like Style Forum, everything is left aligned. The thread topics, posters, etc. What I'd like is to be able to bust up the page's formatting and shift everything to the center so that I don't have to look to the left every time I want to read a post. Its the same way that the Readability bookmarklet/add-on works for articles.

I believe it has something to do with your browser or the way that SF is coded (could be both).

Which browser are you using?

Its the same on both Firefox and Chrome.

weird. mine stretches with the window. grab the bottom right corner and drag it all the way over and down. that should center everything. if not, take a screen shot of what yours looks like and post it.

There's nothing wrong with it. The problem is that since the monitor is large I consistently have to turn my head to the left to read all the posts. Same for all other forums too. What I would like to do is have something "center" everything so that it's all directly in front of me. Check out Readability to see what I'm talking about. I need something like that for webpages.

Stretched out window- Compact window- So my advice would be to make your window more compact and to position the window in the center of your screen. That way you won't have to crane your neck to the left.

yup, that's what I was thinking too...plus at 21 inches, a long post will autoresize to span the entire screen....that's gotta be REALLY hard to read.

Exactly. Plus, all the posts start from the left in every forum so I'm always looking that way. I can move the actual browser window to the right, but then I have to move it back because the Next Page buttons are all the way to the right of the screen. Do you think there is some way to condense everything towards the center?
