I have the regular (Spain) spanish edition. I'm not even sure what I'll be doing over there. My wife will be teaching plus we have a small child. I assume I'll stay with him until I find something. I work in radio communications so I'm not sure how easy it would be to get a job in that field. We still have a while before we would move though. Even longer if she decides to pursue her master's.

Catalunya is not Spain! Obviously you should vist before you make such a move. I imagine that the preconceptions you hold of Barcelona are really societal traits/cultural traits of other regions. I think you'll be better suited in Madrid, Sevilla, etc if you're looking for a "Spanish Experience!" Visca Catalunya

Its one of the most unique places on earth; I will go one day.

Oh dear, this is really quite sad.

That makes an amazing amount of sense. Good luck with the Barcelona thing, and if it's not Barcelona, have a backup. I spent a couple days in Barcelona (a long time ago) and also spent a couple days driving through Louisiana (also a long time ago). I'd pick Barcelona over anywhere I saw in Louisiana, but in my view, Barcelona wasn't anything special, either. Frankly, having traveled a fair bit and having all the places I've been to now jumbled in my head, I think it's the experience that's at the heart of traveling, much more important than a particular destination... or as a great American philosopher put it, it "ain't about what's waiting on the other side, it's the climb."

The Catalonian region is one of the most criminal ones of Spain, plenty of terrorist and far left terrorists.

Catalonian is one of the worst regions of the great Spain.
