Looking for some recommendations on shoes

I am heading to NYC next weekend to look at colleges. While I'm there i want to pick up one or maybe even two pairs of nice shoes; sneaker like, until recently though i didn't know brands like Lanvin and CP and Maison Margiela existed, i really like all of them, any other brands or specific styles recommended ?

Any ideas appreciated
