This is so sad. I remember his posts though I didn't interact with him directly. He will be missed. My heart goes out to his family.

very very sad indeed. i met him a few times, and he really was a great guy. as nice a guy as can be, a real mentch. he passed away from lung cancer.

a friend of mine worked for him, and told me about a month or so ago that KO was very ill. i saw my friend again over the weekend and he informed me that KO had passed. the cancer was pretty fast i think, he was not ill for a long time i believe. he leaves behind a wife and a son, and both his parents are still living as well. he was only 55. really sad. ill miss him.

Too bad about KObalto. That certainly was an untimely demise. I remember his user name well but never had a strong sense of him as a poster.

Noteworthy that the demise of kitonbrioni awhile back was never mentioned in this thread.

There was a lot of discussion and expressions of condolences at the time of kitonbrioni's death. IIRC, it was within a thread that had been created about him prior to his death.

A couple of years back I was in one of the Bespoke shoe makers in Mayfair.

Being a regular the store manager asked if I was interested in 2 particular

pair of bespoke shoes...at knock down prices...i.e. £500 a pair.  As bespoke

in this store would set you back £2500 at the time...

They looked bespoke because of the fine finishing but ugly because of the

wide width and high-instep...they were half a size to big so I turned them down...

I was curious to know why the client hadn't pick them up - the shop owner

told me the guy passed away 2/3 months prior to collecting them...

The shoes were fully paid for - so the shop wasn't sitting on a loss.

Holy shit, Kobalto is dead? Sad; I met the guy. He was definitely a guy I would have had a beer with again.
