I think there was a slur against the undead in there somewhere.

I also remember in one of those car forums a kid was posting about his new bmw his dad gave him and continued asking stuff, and a few weeks that kid died when his bmw flew off the side of a tarmac he used to race in, or something like that. that was creepy.

Not SF related, but an online community. When I was playing MMO's in my college days (yup, I'm a nerd) we had a guy who pretty much ran the guild. Really nice dude, smart too (has a really good gig with Cisco working remotely in his $4 mill home on the beach in Hawaii etc). He said he was going to visit family in Cali for the 4th of July weekend and afterward we didn't see him online for a while. His sister finds out his guild forum information because he mentioned to his family how he enjoys it in his spare time, and posts that he was hit by a drunk driver on the 4th of July and was in a coma. I never heard what happened as I stopped playing shortly after. We were all devastated by the loss

Uhh, no thanks.

On a different forum, for old Corollas in the PNW, one of best guys on there died a few years back. Sad day for many of us guys on there who looked to him for advice or a hand in doing any kind of work. Had some small vinyl stickers of his face silhouette cut up and a lot of us had/have them on our cars. Now newer punkass kids come on there and ask what the stickers are about and want them even though they never met the guy.

It's one thing if they just want to be cool and fit in and another if they respect the man's legacy and information he's passed down through the ages.

This happened to me in EQ. I was in one of the first "uberguilds" formed, having started in beta. This guy was a kick ass shammy. He had a fatal disease going on and it was pretty sad. He died just before we had PoT on farm status. The guild kept his toon logged on for a week straight at the entrance to PoE (we were just getting the tikimen event down) and had him AFK.

Ah I remember this, it was a 08-09 M5, I think he had 4 friends in the car at the time. Car forums usually have a passing member ever so often.

I am surprised at the depth of geekness. Is this real, or are you just funnin' us?

I'll never say.

It's often surprising just how much our "e-friends" can mean to us and, IMHO, that forum was never really the same. Now, of course, it's a heaping mound of teenage crap... but that's another story.

Yeah, I know the person you're referring to. On SF the only people who die are sockpuppets.

No one dies on SF.
Like Dorian Grey, we have portraits that age and age.
