I'm sick of converse - Page 4

It's sort of like the white silk pocket square. Yeah, everbody does it, but that doesn't mean it's not a good idea.

Also wearing Tigers on occasion and a pair of Spring Courts.

Same here, two pairs of boots going on 3. So much more character than most other footwear but I only do laceup kind.

I remember not liking chucks in 2nd/3rd grade because of the 'skater' kids who wore them, and I just never really grew up to like the shoes. Plus they dont go with my style, my very picky style. Though if I come across a white leather pair for $20-30 Id probably pick them up.

It's funny, I can't really were conventional sneakers anymore - I've been wearing boots almost every day since Sophomore year of high school and I feel like I've gone outside in my socks when I wear sneakers. Sometimes I do, but usually I just like to have all that ankle support and ass-kicking ability that a nice ankle boot or Timb provides.

I wear my now worn-in white chucks whenever I just feel like throwing on a tee and walkin out the door...they aren't really clean but they aren't too dirty either it's a good balance. I just started wearing chucks in '06 actually these were my first pair; started wearing Vans this year got two pairs of those and I love em too...so simple and classic cool...lot cheaper than the co.jp nike's I used to wear and have grown tired of

lol they've been at gap for a while, I guess there's a reason why they don't sell

I couldn't survive without Converse. The absolute perfect shoe in my opinion, especially some of the earlier Varvatos collaborations (not so much the new stuff). They can be dressed up or down and never take away anything from the rest of the outfit. There's a reason they haven't changed in god knows how long.

I thought about this too. As much as I am sick of them, I prefer people wearing them to some other ugly ass shoe.

Some alternatives.

* Jack Purcell
* PK Flyer
* ProKeds
* Dunlops
* Can't think of the name, but they are canvas shoes that look like balmorals style business shoes. Lacoste make a model called Rene that fits this description.

I like Adidas and Puma and a few slip-on Vans Models as well.

But people need to keep it old school.

I remember it well, although I was always a Haro man.

Well, they are cheap. That's part of their appeal.
