NBA 2016-2017 Season Thread - Page 593

one of the things about euro soccer jerseys that have sponsorships is that you know what year/era they are from. so an early 90s era man u jersey will have a different sponsor than an 2000' era. it's cool to have certain memories associated with the eras. the sponsors logos are almost an afterthought in the end.

Will the advertisement patches be on jerseys you buy at NBA.com?
If I ever decided to buy an NBA jersey I think I would like it to come with the official advertisement patch.

What about on throwback jersey nights? The Lakers usually have 3 or 4 of those each season.

From the article posted, it said Adidas will have to stitch the ad patch on the jerseys they sell.

So many things to work out.

How's Nike going to like Kobe and the rest of their clients running around w/ Adidas patches.

Well all NBA jerseys and NBA gears are contracted with Adidas so all of them has to have that logo in there as long as their playing in the NBA either way. But patches like McDonalds or Coke or Pepsi will have to be added by Adidas to the jerseys they sell.

How much revenue will this little ad bring in?

No idea how much revenue but it'll likely be millions just from that little 2"x2" badge since that will be televised for 82 games in the year and more with playoffs. Big market teams like LA, Miami, NY, etc... will likely charge more since they get more national games than say the Warriors. But yeah it'll bring in millions but at a cost of having ugly ass jerseys.

it doesn't have to get that bad. you figure those euro bball teams don't make as much money compared to the soccer clubs so they have to go the nascar route and plaster the available space with as much ads as possible.

jersey from the premiere league or la liga usually have one principle sponsor to which they can collaborate on design. it ends up being pretty benign - like i mentioned before - an afterthought.

No thanks. A giant JVC logo in the torso or Fly Emirates? It's disgusting and seriously at first look, I thought that's a Fly Emirates team. I know what you are saying but that is a terrible example.

if it's anything like the soccer jerseys in the premier league... then with time it will pass.

If it's only a 2x2 patch... it's smaller than a post-it... no problems with me.
