Wade is an absolute monster. So may dunks against a great defensive team. Fantastic defensive presence too

That wasn't even Darkos fault. Larry Brown pretty much destroyed the kids career. You can see what he could be in Minnesota this year before he got hurt.

Hate the guy but he's been great this series. If Lebron was playing to his ability this wouldn't even be a contest. Thankfully he isn't and the Mavs seem to keep pulling out miracles.

this has been really entertaining basketball. not perfect, but really hard-fought and basically well-played. this is the second game in a row that carlisle has gone to a zone for a run in the fourth quarter and it has totally futzed miami's offense. last night he sprung it, got a nice run, went back to man before they could adjust, then closed in a zone again. very smart coaching. and i liked the way he used an obviously ailing nowitzki ... running him in 3-4 minute sprints, then giving me a blow. all 4 games it's looked like dallas has been out of it and the last three, they've battled back (aaargh! in all three cases spurred by that obnoxious jason terry).

I've been impressed by Tyson Chandler's play. All hustle and heart, all the time. He had a few lapses last night (overhelping, not boxing out) but I really think he kept Dallas in the game.

This. Should have been a sweep as I predicted. Stern is drawing it out for revenue.

As he has all season.

Anyone else notice how much Carlisle now looks like Jim Carrey?

Chandler is a guy who very easily could have turned into a bust coming out of HS. He was pretty raw and had a tough time adjusting but he carved out a niche for himself, worked hard, and now he's one of the key pieces of the Mavs squad. His play in the finals has been very good so far.

he's basically the definitive role player. does what he does terrifically well. ask him to do much more and it's a no go. but if you've got 5 players who each perform their role perfectly ...

the amount of fail in this comment is even higher than the amount of win in your avatar

As much as I hate to say it, Wade is almost the perfect NBA player. He's almost unguardable on offense (hits long shots, attacks the rim) and is perhaps the best defensive 2 guard in the history of the game (did you see him stuff Chandler's shot last night?).

Mavs fans have a love/hate thing with Terry. He will thrill you (game 4 against the Lakers) and he will break your heart. His highest and best use is as a bench player where you have a reliable 2nd scoring option...which was supposed to be Corey Brewer. He's a bit less obnoxious when he plays for your team, but I can see how you could hate the guy when he's not.

IMO Chandler is the difference between today and yesterday for the Mavs. They have always needed a solid defensive presence in the middle. They tried the Mantis (our local nickname for Shawn Bradley) and Erick Dampier (who is now riding the pine for the Heat), but both were a joke. Chandler has brought a completely new defensive mindset to this team that has really been the difference. Dirk is this team's MVP, but Chandler is the reason they're in the Finals.

Yeah, Stern is so incredibly smart: he knew that sending his minion, disguised as a reporter, to goad LeBron about "shirking his responsibilities" would thereby cause Bron to get all funked up and petulant and go exactly 3-11, thereby causing Dirk to catch a fever and miss a bunch of shots, thereby causing Carlisle to sub in Brian Cardinal, thereby causing Dirk to get pissed and go for a lay-up early in the shot clock, thereby causing DWade to go for a dunk, thereby causing the Heat to foul Terry, thereby causing Terry to go 2-2, thereby causing DWade to fumble an inbounds pass, thereby causing Mike Miller to heave up a prayer and miss, thereby causing the series to go for at least 6 games. Really genius, Stern is.

All this and his rebounding as well.
Terry isn't on my team so he bugs me completely. Are people in Houston pissed that he stole Kenny Smith's nickname?
I agree about Chandler: his attitude also seems good, no histrionics, etc.

Stern is an evil genius, isn't he?

Best rebounding small in the NBA? Might be.

As for Terry's nickname, no one in Dallas cares what people in Houston think.

I just hope he's genius enough to have the Mavs win it all.

Well, if he's not the best he's certainly way up there.
