NBA 2016-2017 Season Thread - Page 496

not that you Westies care about the early game, but i was really impressed by Rondo tonight. he had one of those games where you just know he was control of every square inch of that floor, and completely in sync with his team. i don't even know what his statline was like, but he completely demoralized Philly by himself tonight. yeah, Bass shot extraordinarily well, but Rondo was the story tonight

bass was a beast tonight. rondo was aiight wink.gif

i looked at the video several times again. i think i could see it being a flagrant. sefolosha clearly starts falling over perpendicular to his initial momentum after mwp puts his other hand behind him. was a pretty unnecessary push

it was a bullshit call. it was arguably a foul (though if you get all ball, they often let the follow-through slide), but in no way was that a flagrant. still, in the end it didn't have anything to do with the game, thank goodness. can you imagine the conspiracy theories if david stern nixes the cp3 deal, and then the lakers lose a close one when they gave up 5 points on a flagrant htat winds up being rescinded?
i'm afraid it's time to put this team to bed. pau needs a new setting. guards are horrible. blake averaged 6.3 on 42% shooting; sessions averaged 9.7 on 38%(!!!!). big 3 averaged 60 of 94 team points (and ron-ron averaged 12 of the remaining 32). i don't think brown did a good job either. granted it was a difficult season, but if you're going into a short season, do y ou need to totally change offensive and defensive schemes? and his rotations are impossible to figure out. jordan hill doesn't play all season, has one good game and ends up being no. 6 or 7. troy murphy (who can shoot jumpers) gets 15 minutes in the playoffs. josh mcroberts, who is a good hustle player and has some skills, gets 16. matt barnes admittedly had trouble shooting, but he didn't get a minute last night.
i am looking forward to okc/spurs, though ... the irresistible force and the immovable object.

i was watching the post game interviews and kobe admitted he had no idea how to make the team better

fire mike brown and bring in a coach that favors triangle offense

They should have hired Brian Shaw after Jackson left. Shaw was familiar with Jackson's sysem and had a good report with the players. Don't know why they opted not to hire Shaw.

cuz teams with money need brand name coaches and players to make themselves feel like they made a good decision

Lakers and Clippers should really be going after Jerry Sloan this summer.

Of the two, Clippers would benefit most having Sloan as the coach. Having Chris Paul and Griffen working on P-n-Rs would be awesome.

I'm nervous about tonight. seems like Lebron/Wade need to combine for 70-80 for them to win and that's not happening often. happy that Haslem contributed last game, but i haven't seen a championship contender with so little contributions from non-stars since the AI Sixers

ai sixers were sad

heats might not make it this year

Kind of surprised at the Heat leading in Halftime. Battier finally hitting 3s for them.
