NBA 2016-2017 Season Thread - Page 471

come on give some credit to pierre mcgee and miller and george karl... nuggets have been lob city jr all season long, their bigs MO is getting down the court early, slipping the pick and getting easy lobs + they have a lot of lob plays in their playbook.

helps when miller puts em on point and mcgee faried can jump out of the gym.

afflalo or gallo yet to have a big game as well.

hope it goes to 7 games.

Carmelo looks totally content throwing up empty numbers on a bad team.

Bynum is an idiot for saying that.

how's Indiana this year? i don't remember seeing them play at all. obviously they are a pretty good team being in the second round, but they beat a D12-less Magic squad...

well clearly he's not a great player yet...

but even with terrible defense his numbers yesterday give a nice hint of what's to come

Very good. They are 3rd in the East and 5th overall in the league. They have a better record than the Lakers, Memphis, Clips, Boston, etc...

out of all the links in that article this was the most interesting

Greg Oden has been cut by the Portland Trailblazers due to chronic knee problems. Brandon Roy announced his retirement in 2011 prior to the start of the season, citing “degenerative knees” as the major contributing factor in his decision. Something is going dreadfully wrong in the Northwest! And it’s not the athletes’ fault.

the rest of that blog is really interesting. there's an article on d-rose that is in the vein of lawrencemd's post

clippers are facepalm inducing right now

lulz, 5 technicals in a couple of minutes, including one on Vinny.

i believe they'll still beat Memphis, but they do have a terrible coach and a lot of growing up to do. they just seem to want to play unnecessarily feisty for some reason. "Lob City" guys take inordinate joy in whooping it up and showing up their opponent, staring down opponents after dunks...and then they wonder why they get hammered with hard fouls a couple of plays later. thank goodness they have Chris Paul and Chauncey Billups to be the de facto leaders and coaches because they're not gonna get any leadership from Vinny or Sterling or anyone else.

I seriously do not see this. I see more celebration from Mcgee who punds his chest or Lebron with his dances and Wades salute.

Every time Blake posterizes someone, dude just stands there w/o saying anything or any reaction. I seriously see where the hate is coming from that point of view.
Here's his giant dunk on Perkins, he was pumped but nothing other than his teammates giving him a chest bump. No stare downs, no taunting, just celebration.

Huge dunk on Ibaka and almost no reaction.

Alley-oop, just kept on playing on.

The only one I remember hims osmewhat staring down is his dunk on Pau but even then he was pushed back by Jordan with a chest pounding before you can even say he was taunting.

I really do not see where this hate on Griffins dunks are coming from.

^ Chis Paul is all-nba-1st-team talent, but he's just as bad as being passive aggressive when it comes to being hyper aggressive doing anything until he can break out his all-Nba-1st-team flopping skillz. Its true that Paul Pierce has an annoying "i've been raped face", but chris paul comes off as a teacher's pet when it comes to the refs/media (because he's a dirty (flopping), crafty, conniving motherfucker on the court) but then cleans up really nice when it comes to dealing with the refs/media.

blake griffin really hams it up after a dunk, or when he thinks he got fouled (101% of the time), but its countered by the fact that he looks like a discombobulated headless chicken when he gets the ball in the post and is expected to score.

Memphis giving it to the Clips and they're not capitalizing on it. Too many forced shots and iso or pick and roll plays and none is working. Fuck VDN sucks! Draw up a different play for gods sake!
