in my post I agree and call them assholes for asking for money... its crass.
but allen has a point... lebron, wade, howard, kobe.... they are mini corporations who are worth hundreds of millions of dollars per year for their team, families, ect ect... basically if one gets seriously injured then the potential for financial loss is astronomical. lebron leaving cleveland practically killed the cavs (and resulting economic hit around the arena ect ect).
its almost a better more sane move to not be in the olympics (especially if you've already won a gold medal in the past)... with the condensed/shortened season, playoffs, and olympics these mini corporations who thousands of people depend on for their lifeblood its a huge risk.
but in the end to ask for money when you're already rich is uncouth and crass.
