NBA 2016-2017 Season Thread - Page 443

I'm not saying that the matchups %100 determine the outcome. If a team implodes or its best player chokes, the matchups aren't going to matter. But the matchups play a very big role in the outcome. See Spurs-Memphis last year, Orlando-Cleveland a few years ago, Dallas-Golden State before that.

Most series don't have one-sided matchup advantages. But when they do, it matters.

Funny Thread on 94 Knicks vs. current Knicks. Check out this quote from "Metrocard" on why Jeremy Lin was better than Derek harper: "Lin would of been the most strongest and athletic PG's in the 90's"

I loved the defense-oriented Knicks of the 90s. They went through stretches where it looked like they could hold a team to 10 points a half. And then Jordan walked the ball up the floor and you saw what happened the immovable object encountered an irresistible force. ( frown.gif The force won)

And like I clearly said, it does matter but isn't what it is all about as you guys first stated it being all about the match-ups.

But again, look at the Lakers/Dallas series, everyone believed the Lakers are a better match up for Dallas. I already explained it, Dirk has range/scoring and Chandler has the defense but Bynum and Pau and can defend and score. Pau can even spread the floor too, not as much as Dirk but he has some range. The match up odds were on the Lakers side on that one and everyone thought so too until the Lakers imploded. Not to discredit Dallas but Lakers really was just horrible in that series. Again, match ups matter but it isn't all about it.

Yeah sports is unpredictable but the argument you guys have like you knew Dallas had the match-up advantage over the big are ridiculous. If Dallas lost that series, none of you guys would be saying that at all.

He's actually been inconsistent though. That was the best game he's ever had but before that he had 1pt/4reb, 12/8, 13/8, 4/9, 12/8, 10/5, etc... He's a 10-8 guy, which seems about right for a rookie starting PF.

i'm happy that a lot of the injured guys are back. love watching gallo and lowry play. kinda sucks for the rockets cuz i dont think they can afford dragic next year when he becomes a free agent
