Boston is so depleted right now. Rondo is stupid, Oneal, Bass and Wilcox are all out tonight and I am not sure if KG will play (some personal matter) against the Thunder.
On the other hand, looks like Joe Johnson will miss the ASG (good cuz he doesn't really deserve it). I was hoping they replace him with Josh Smith but looks like Rondo will take his place.
it looks best to just blow it up. the thing is there are always these media reports about "danny is thinking of blowing it up - willing to trade anybody - and has no loyalty"
but the fact of the matter is... that the owners should really have danny on the chopping block. the owners have shown too much loyalty to ainge in just the same way that danny complained that loyalty is a detriment to team future (with his observations about the fall of the late 80's celtics).
its not like the celtics are in bad shape either... with only two players under contract next year they have the ultimate in flexibility. if they start tanking now... they might even miss the playoffs and hit the lottery (with something like 10 potential future NBA allstar caliber college players coming out)
I agree. Boston should blow it up and get whatever value they can now. problem too is that i think Rondo's an all star, but not someone you can build a team around. he's a complementary player that plays well within a team strategy but won't take over a game by himself.
Ainge's critics have caught what have you done for me lately disease...yeah he really mismanaged the team in the early years but pulled off one of the greatest teambuilding feats ever by assembling Rondo, Pierce, Allen and KG very quickly, somehow managed to surround them with quality players like Perk, and delivered one title and two finals appearances for a team that previously had no young talent and was going nowhere.
his feat was even bigger than Pat. Riley's "3 kings" move because even in year 1 he had quality beneath the top 3 roster slots, and won a title immediately. and everyone who saw this happening knew that this day would come when this team would be too old.
How long would you have to say Jeremy Lin has to play well before its no longer considered a "run".
Once their season is over.
Really looking forward to the Heats/Knicks tonight. I want to see how Lin stacks up when Wade & Lebron takes turns guarding him. With the egos on both those guys, I'm sure they are heated (no pun intended) that Lin is taking the spotlight away from their own run and dismantling teams left and right.
