Lin is both. i think JJ Barea's coming out of nowhere was a result of that too. the game looks very different than the last time i watched a lot of ball (only a few years ago). the point guard is the most important position now. i think the rule change is part of it. it's probably part of why scouts passed over Lin too: physically, he isn't what you'd look for in the NBA if it was, like, 15 years ago. the teams that figure out how to spot Barea or Lin or Rubio types will strike gold. i suspect there's more of these guys out there getting cut repeatedly while everyone over 7' gets a contract (pulse optional).

Lin and Rubio are both big and strong. Lin is 6-3 200, and Rubio is 6-4 180. Not exactly small at the point.

Watched Lin for the first time against TWolves. He was great 1st half, stunk it up a bit in the second. He was fatigued, it was obvious.

Melo will fuck that rhythm up with his long stretches holding the ball. Lin and Chandler seem to have a great understanding.

He's more aggressive than I expected. When you watch highlights it doesnt come across but he basically drives almost every possession and opens things up.

Weakness so far is that he doesnt seem to have a 3 and I also noticed he doesnt go to his left very well.

Interesting thought on the Lin-sanity business: I don't think it would have exploded quite as hard during a normal year, if it would have happened at all. The compressed schedule gave us a whole shitload of games really quickly, and also produced a bunch of the injuries that pulled him off the bench. Also set up weird trade timelines, so the Knicks might have traded for someone during a normal year.
