asian american works dude. he's like 2nd generation. he's practically american. half my high school friends grew up with him. the ones that went to chinese school with him talk about how their mandarin is better lol8[1].gif

I know he's not Chinese, my point is that most would just call him a chink, hence the "all rook same" meme drop.

Asian-American is correct, IF you're even going to get into race, and considering the context of the conversation race is relevant.

After rereading my post, I think you might have assumed I was being sarcastic about WP, and the "love" was just snark. I added a "(0)."

It's just like how people say Wes Welker and Jordy Nelson are deceptively quick. When Tyson Chandler admitted publicly that he didn't know Lin could dunk, he was just speaking out of honesty. I applaud people's effort to remain politically correct and avoid saying things that may be interpreted as racially offensive, but you can't always ignore reality.

i dunno man. i think you're just reading PC bullshit into this. he is sneaky fast. something about the rhythm of his penetration (lol8[1].gif) or the way he times his drives makes it look like he's not that fast until he's blowing by you. he's no westbrook or rose in athleticism but somehow he gets in.

also at this point i feel like melo will adjust to lin rather then the other way around (not that lin is better by any means, but the way the knicks have been running their offense through him)

but he IS sneaky fast. I actually said deceptive quickness in the post above yours. and it has nothing to do with race. he runs upright and with choppy steps which makes him look kinda slow to my eyes. he also looks like he's running as fast as he can but is really going 3/4ths...which Im convinced he does on purpose to fool people who think he doesn't have a higher gear. he has a very short first step and it looks like you can easily stay in front of him but it's faster than you think and after he takes that step he suddenly changes direction and off he goes.

like I said, he reminds me of Steve Nash and it's not because white and Asian people are supposed to all be slow. they kind of carry themselves in similar ways and use similar tactics to set up their opponents. if you want an example of a black player who's sneaky fast in similar ways, how about Brandon Roy.

You know what would make the Lin story even better? If it turns out he has like a ten inch hog.

So sick and tired of all the comparisons between Jeremy Lin and Steve Nash. Shit gets old real fast.

Are you out of your mind?

The kid is good, but he's no Jeremy Lin.
