seriously could go seven.. great series.

Meh, Lebron was a fairly likable figure before the last year with the Cavs/the decision circus. Atleast in comparison to Kobe, who was pretty disliked right out of the gate. Kobe is an intensely private, brooding asshole (kind of like MJ) while LeBron is a petulant, grossly overgrown manchild.

^^^ Nah, Lebron have been stupid for at least 3 years going now. Remember the no handshake and how he left the arena before talking to the press when they lost to Orlando? Remember the dancing on the side of the court while the game was going on? Remember the stupid egotistical MVP tees? Those are all way before the stupid "decision."

this is pretty stupid, that's because they won

shaq was cool and funny at first but then he just needed to go which worked out perfectly, they need to give bynum the same treatment now and ship him off

The nba has become terrible to watch. Tonight we watched a team shoot a better field goal percentage, better 3 point percentage, better free throw percentage, and dish out more assists. and somehow lose by 10. why? because the other team enjoyed an almost 2 to 1 free throw advantage, 38-20.

Anyone who watched the second half of that game wasted an hour and a half of their life. Once you realized that Boston shot 55% in the first half and was only up one basket, the writing was pretty much on the wall as far as the outcome because not too many teams can sustain that kind of field goal percentage. That being said, they shot 50% from the field.

Someone call Elias - I'd like to hear how many times a team in the playoffs has shot almost 50% from the field, 46% from 3, and lost by 10.

NBA Action is Faaaantastic.

I hate it when refereeing overly influences the game too. But you're missing the 8 more TOs Celtics had and 4 more OFF Reb Miami had which means 12 extra possessions for Miami to score. Although Miami only got 2 more shots off than the Celtics they had more possessions to get those fouls by being aggressive.

The weird part is the Wade doesn't really flop/flail in a wild outward manner like kobe or pierce. He kind of does the karl malone thing and just falls down gently to preserve his knees/ankles like a stuntman would do. It just seems like the refs are hypnotized to blow the whistle when there's contact with wade.

To each his own.

Personally I think this year's playoffs have been pretty awesome to watch.

Right, 12 more possessions but Miami still shot 42% from the field to Boston's 49%. Miami also shot 36% from three versus Boston's 46% percent. Did Miami's 12 extra possessions make up that difference? I don't see how because the teams hit the same number of FGs and 3FGs. Tie game. But they won by 10 . . .and they just happened to be +10 from the line in made free throws. That is literally the difference in a 10-point game.

What's OBVIOUS is that Miami's 38-20 free throw advantage is a bit much.

And "aggression" just doesnt mean much when the contact levels are just different for each team. I thought this was pretty obvious after game 1 when O'neal was called for a pitty pat flagrant that was rescinded the next day, while James Jones was not called for an obvious flagrant foul on pierce which was upgraded after the game from a personal to a flagrant. This seemed to keep up throughout the series.

Its silly to be "agressive" and drive to the hole, initiate contact, and not get a foul. Because you end up in the first row of cameras, there's no foul call, and miami now has numbers on the break because paul pierce is still on the floor. This seemed to happen alot. Pierce went from a guy who normally draws all kinds of fouls to someone who could not get to the line to save his life. But of course he just wasnt "aggressive" enough.

It's amazing to watch the No.1 or No.2 defense in the NBA all of a sudden become completely foul prone. 40 free throws is just absurd. shooting free throws at an almost 2-1 clip is pretty ridiculous.

+1. He gets a lot of whistles on what looks like marginal contact at best. There was a play earlier in the series where he blew right by Garnett who tried to grab him, it seemed, but wasnt fast enough. He ended up nicking him as Wade blew by him for an uncontested lay-up and got the foul.

I would love to see Pierce's free throws in the 4th quarter of each game. He just could not generate a foul call.

I am fine with quick whistles but what kills me is tight whistles at one end and no holds barred at the other end. I just would like some consistency, but the "home" advantage has become ridiculous. The Lakers are probably the gold standard in the NBA for the last 3 or 4 years, and they basically did not win one series where they did not have home court advantage in that entire span.

In the interest of full dislosure, I am a Celtics fan . . . if it wasnt obvious
